Goody-Bye Meta

It is not an easy move. Not because the platform is so phantastic. But because of the people.

But let me explain.

It is not a secret that I have never been a big fan of WhatsApp and until today I do not have WhatsApp. But after some years I joined Facebook and Instagram, more because I wanted to make my business more known.

And I have to admit that I kind of enjoyed Instagram a bit. What I liked a lot about Facebook was, that I could stay in touch with people. Even when they are located far away. And so, one could participate on the life of the other.

Not my values and standards

But a lot has changed on Instagram and Facebook and most of the things are not in alignment with my values and standards. It is time to leave.

The most challenging part is to stay in touch with you. As I wrote in a post before I do got a profile on Mastodon. Why? No ads and a very respectful way to deal with each other (mostly 🙂 ). But – you can „close“ your profile, so that your private pictures stay private. And that is the main reason.

I am also trying out BlueSky, which is pretty similar, but you cannot close your profile, which makes every post public. And I am also trying Tumblr, which comes closer to FB but is somehow a kind of wild 😀

So I haven’t found my „digital home“ yet, but while I am still looking around, I want to keep in contact with you guys.

Of course, you can follow this internet page via RSS Feed and if you are already on one of the below platforms, let’s connect! It might be an interim for the time being and it may require to run two different platforms at the same time.

But to be dependent on a Monopoly run by people who are not aware of the responsibilities they have, is something which creates physical pain for me.

And Facebook and Instagram have never been a source of truth, but now with removing the fact checkers there are no limits to spread fake news and attack people and their opinions. so, Good-Bye Meta.

So, I do hope we stay in touch, one way or the other.
